Day 1 : Bangkok-Ayutthaya

Depart Bangkok heading north to visit Ayutthaya, the ancient capital of Siam during 1351 - 1767. A river island city-state founded by King Ramathibodi, Ayutthaya remained the Thai capital for 417 years until its fall to the Burmese in 1767. Stop en route suggest to visit Bang Pa In, the Royal summer Palace of the Kings.

From the beginning, King Ramathibodi launched a vigorous military campaign and at its zenith Ayudhaya had control over the central and lower Menam Chao Phya basin, parts of Burma and the Malay peninsula.

Wars were fought for territorial reasons and victory meant greater wealth and prestige which in turn acted as a deterrent to would-be invaders. Overnight in Ayutthaya.

Day 2 : Ayutthaya-Phitsanulok

After breakfast, continue on to visit more ruins in Ayutthaya and then drive further north passing rural landscape of rice fields for Phitsanulok.

Upon arrival, stop visit Wat Mahathat, a second most precious Buddha image in Thailand. The temple is one of the few old buildings remaining after a fore destroyed most of the town 30 to 40 years ago. Overnight in Phitsanulok

Day 3 : Phitsanulok-Sukhothai

American breakfast at hotel. A full day trip to explore Sukhohai, a former Siamese capital (1238-1376). Sukhothai was once the most powerful city in Thailand and was eventually abandoned to the jungle in the 16th century.

Today the temple ruins have been restored and the historical park has made for an attractive open-air museum. A good restaurant with nice and clean Thai lunch can be found here. Overnight in Sukhothai.

Day 4 : Sukhothai-Lampang-Lampoon-Chiang Mai

Morning drive out north, the landscape changes dramatically from the flat Central Plains to the mountains and lush valleys of the north. Stop at Lampang to view the country's second Emerald Buddha at Wat Phra Dhat Lampang.

Then continue on to visit the famous Wat Haripoonchai in lampoon, built in 1157. Continue on to Chiang Mai. Afternoon, arrive in Chiang Mai and head to visit Doi Suthep mountain, to visit the 600 year old temple of WAT PHRATHAT DOI SUTHEP.

After a drive up the mountain’s winding road, the final climb to the site is via an enormous mythological Nagas (Dragon-headed serpent) staircase of 306 steps.Inside the cloister is an intriguing copper-plated chedi topped by a five-tier gold parasol which contains partial relics of Lord Buddha.

On a clear day there are incomparable views over the city of Chiang Mai from the temple grounds. We drive you to hotel for check in and here to say good bye to our driver.
