Trip to the North
Recommended itinerary
Venture deep into
the heart of the Thailand kingdom around Thailand. The recommended
itinerary at below will takes you to the multi-day expeditions for an in-depth
look into the everyday life and beauty of the country.

Day 1 : Bangkok - Ayutthaya - Lopburi

Drive out from
Bangkok 70 kms to visit Ayutthaya, the former capital of Siam to witness the
gigantic bronze statues of Pra Viharn Mongkol Borpith,the ancient pagodas at Wat
Phra Sri Sanphet and many ruisn temples here in Ayutthaya.

Continue further north for Lop Buri. Visit Narai Rajanivej Palace followed by
the Sacred Three Pagodas and the Monkey Temple. Afternoon, drive
further north onward to Phitsanulok, dinner and overnight here.

Day 2: Phitsanulok - Sukhothai -Sri Satchanalai- Lampang

Morning visit Wat
Maha Dhat, then strike west to visit the ruins of
Sukhothai Historical Park, and National Ramkamhaeng Museum.

After lunch, continue further north for Lampang province. Visit Wat
Pra Dhat Lampang Luang, housing the old Emerald Buddha besides the one at the
Grand Palace in Bangkok. Dinner and overnight here in Lampang.

Day 3: Lampang – Chiang Rai

Morning, visit the colourful of local Market, where the handicrafts, fruit,
vegetables, are on sell here. Continue drive further north to the most top-north
of Thailand border at Mae Sai, Thai-Burma trading border in
Chiang Rai. |

Here, there is the opportunity to cross Mae Sai River into Tha Chilek, Burma
border town. Witness local Burmese life in nearby village. Enjoy take a motored
tricycle ride to explore Tha Chilek with its Shan-style temple and the town
through lanes and side streets of Tha Chilek ending at a local market, famous
for products from Southern China, Burma, and Laos.

After return back to Thailand side. Thai set lunch recommended at the Anantapura
restaurant near the boarder. Overnight and dinner in Chiang Rai.

Day 4: in Chiang Rai

Morning. Drive out to visit Hall of the Opium. The Hall of Opium combines a
museum on the history of opium and the impact of illegal drugs, with an
information centre for research and extension education on opium, opiates and
other narcotics. Continue on to visit the Golden Triangle area, where the
borders of Thailand, Burma, and Laos meet. Enjoy a long-tail boat trip to view
the splendor of mighty of Mae Khong River joining the Ruak River and forming the
“ triangle “ with Thailand, Burma, and Laos. (On the way, there is an option for
the people who would like to get off to visit Laos’ territory)NO PASSPORT
require.

Disembrak at Chiang Sean pier. Upon arrival, time to enjoy traditional Thai
massage overlooking at the mighty of Mekhong river or bicycle ride to visit the
ruin temple of Chiang Sean.

Evening, after dinner, our driver can take you out
to visit the Great Monument of Kun Phra Chao Meng Rai, honours the monarch who
founded Chiang Rai in 1262. This stupa contains King Meng Rai's ashes and
relics. From here you can hire a typical northern trishaw to explore Chiang
Rai’s downtown by night and experience the night market of Chiang Rai. Overnight
in Chiang Rai.

Day 5: Elephants & Long Neck hilltribe village

Morning check out from the hotel and proceed to the elephant camp to enjoy the
elephant ride at the Karen hilltrbe village. Continue on to visit the long neck
hill tribe village.

There are an estimate 250,000 to 500,000 tribes people living
in the north, spilt among seven major groups; Karen, Meo, Akha, Lahu, Lawa,
Lisu and Yao. All retain distinct cultures, language and religious beliefs,
though their most obvious difference is their dress and the woman of each tribe
the men to a lesser degree continue to wear their own style of elaborate costume.
Handicrafts skills-notably in weaving, embroidery and making silver jewelry are
also well developed. The Long Necked Karen hill tribes or Padaung is one of
the latest hill tribe immigrants who have come to form a new minority group in
Thailand.
 This afternoon, we
drive through the green valley and hills of Chiang Rai to Chaing Mai city. Dinner and overnight here in Chaing Mai.

Day 6: in Chiang Mai

Morning visit Doi Suthep Temple, situtated up on the mountains at
3,526 feet above sea level. The temple is reached by a staircase with 290 steps,
flanked by a Naga balustrade on either side and beautiful Golden Chedi, which
contains partial relics of Lord Buddha. You can also visit Doi Pui where
Mao Hill tribe people live their primitive way of life.

Afternoon. The opportunity to visit Sankampaeng, the village that famous of Thai Silk
factory, Gem stone factory, Umbrella and a handicraft manufacturer. Dinner and overnight in Chiang Mai.

Day 7: Departures

Free at own leaisure till departure time for flight to Bangkok. Or Choice to continue stay in Chiang Mai.
